Officer Salgado, who served in the 81st Precinct, was deeply involved in youth programs and is remembered for his dedication to the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in the South Bronx, Salgado was the first in his family to graduate from college before joining the Police Department.
